Your hosts, Adda & Luis Carvajal-Labourdette lived in Australia and New Zealand for several years, operating successful businesses until we returned to Santiago de Chile and discovered this charming house, situated in an idyllic, friendly neighbourhood called Providencia, a prestigious "barrio" founded in 1897.
We promptly fell in love with the house, and decided we wanted to open our own bed and breakfast in Santiago, to share the warmth of our home and the beauty of Chile with others.
We decided to name our bed and breakfast "Casa Newen" from which "Casa" is derived from the Spanish word for home and "Newen" a word from the native Chilean, Mapuche language meaning "Spiritual Power".
Thus Casa Newen Bed and Breakfast was born in 2003 and continues to welcome tourists from all over the world, with inexpensive accomodation, personalised service in a peaceful & serene location with friendly, knowledgeable hosts.
It is fitting that our motto is "mi casa es tu casa" which translates
as "our place is your place".
It would be our pleasure to welcome you to our bed and breakfast in
Santiago and our beautiful country.
