Your hosts, Adda & Luis Carvajal-Labourdette lived in Australia and New Zealand for several years, operating successful businesses until we returned to chile and discovered this charming house, situated in an idyllic, friendly neighbourhood called "Providencia", a prestigious "barrio" founded in 1897.
We promptly fell in love with the house, and decided we wanted to open our own bed and breakfast, to share the warmth of our home and the beauty of Chile with others.
We decided to name our bed and breakfast "Casa Newen" from which "Casa" is derived from the Spanish word for home and "Newen" a word from the native Chilean, Mapuche language meaning "Spiritual Power".
Thus Casa Newen Bed and Breakfast was born and continues to service people from all over the world, with inexpensive accomodation, in a great location with amenities at hand as well as great tour rates and friendly, knowledgeable staff.
It is fitting that our motto is "mi casa es tu casa" which translates
as "our place is your place".
It would be our pleasure to welcome you to our beautiful country.
